Alfred And The National Guitar Workshop Release The Total Series Book/CD Packages

Alfred and the National Guitar Workshop are pleased to release the new Total Series Book and CD packages. At $19.95 (SRP), each title in the Total Series focuses on a specific genre, like rock, jazz or blues, providing a wide-range of study for musicians of all skill levels, from beginning to more advanced players.

The Total Jazz Drummer (Book & CD)
The Total Jazz Drummer is an exciting journey through the diverse world of jazz drumming. You start with basic lessons in grip and rhythm and end up playing solos in the styles of Elvin Jones, Tony Williams, "Philly" Joe Jones and Max Roach. This wide-ranging study of jazz drums is for all players from beginning to advanced. The beginning-to-intermediate student will find all the tools needed to become a great player, while the more advanced player will find lots of useful tips and a fresh perspective on jazz drumming. This book features many of the styles that make the instrument and genre of jazz drumming so challenging yet rewarding: from second line (street beat), bossa nova, Samba, clave, mambo and salsa to Songo, Bembe, Abakwa and Calypso. A CD is included with backing tracks to practice with.

The Total Acoustic Guitarist is an exciting journey through the diverse world of acoustic guitar playing. You start by strumming some basic tunes and end up slapping, tapping and sliding your way through some really cool and funky arrangements. This wide-ranging study of the acoustic guitar is for all players from beginning to advanced. The beginning-to-intermediate student will find all the tools needed to become a great guitarist, while the more advanced player will find lots of useful tips and a fresh perspective on the acoustic guitar. Though the book tips its hat to all the greats of the past, it is filled with popular and contemporary stylings that have been influenced by the great history of acoustic guitar playing. A CD is included with backing tracks in different styles to jam over.
