American DJ has put its heads together—4 of them—to develop the LED Bar, a better way for bands, schools, churches and stage shows to create colorful wall washes. A compact bar with 4 heads, each containing 61 vibrant 5mm LEDs (21 red, 19 green, 21 blue), the DMX-compatible LED Bar can produce thousands of rich, saturated colors through RGB color mixing.

Featuring a 30° beam angle, the LED Bar's total 244 LED lamps will cover a wide surface area with dazzling color. Yet, performers, entertainers and speakers will remain cool under its bright lights, thanks to the low heat emission of LEDs, which do not product ultraviolet or infrared rays.

Not only do LED lamps give off far less heat than halogen or discharge fixtures, they also last longer and use far less electricity. Each of the LED Bar's lamps is rated for 50,000 hours of use, making mid-show bulb replacements a thing of the past. And the low power consumption of LEDs will help save energy costs and allow more units to be run on a single circuit.

"LED technology is becoming increasingly popular in all types of entertainment lighting applications, because of its many clear advantages," said Scott Davies, General Manager of the American DJ Group of Companies. "The LED Bar brings this superior cutting-edge technology to musicians, stage shows, schools and churches who want an easy way to add color washes to their productions, in one compact, affordable and simple-to-operate unit."

When used with a DMX controller, the LED Bar can create an infinite palette of colors, allowing bands and lighting directors to totally customize the look of their show. A user-friendly Digital DMX Display makes it easy to set DMX channels and select pre-sets. A color strobe effect and 0-100% electronic dimming add to the LED Bar's onstage repertoire.

The LED Bar can also be used without a DMX controller in 3 stand-alone modes: Sound Active, Auto, or Static Color. It comes with built-in pre-set programs and color fades, so that even those who aren't up to speed with DMX technology can create dazzling lighting displays and opulent wall washes. Additionally, an optional foot controller, the American DJ FC Pad (sold separately), can be used with the LED Bar to control color selection, color fades and blackout.

Extremely compact and affordable, the LED Bar can hit the road and go wherever the show is. The unit includes a built-in power supply and measures a trim 19.75"L x 3.5"W x 5.25"H. It weighs just 7 lbs. for easy portability. Using its flexible bracket system, the LED Bar can be floor or truss mounted, making it right at home in a variety of settings.

The suggested retail price of the LED Bar is $339.95.
