Platinum Producers And Engineers Offer Tips At AES 123rd Convention

AES 123rd Convention Platinum Producers & Engineers Panels will offer attendees rare access to a stellar group of extraordinary production pros. The sessions will provide insights into the process of collaborating with superstar artists in some of the world's most storied studios. Each panel will be highlighted by audio montages and a freestyle Q&A.
Saturday, Oct. 6th—10:00 to 11:30AM: The Platinum Producers Panel will feature such impeccably credentialed record makers as: Ed Cherney (Clapton, Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Browne, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan); Hal Willner (Lou Reed, Deborah Harry, Lucinda Williams); Al Kooper (Lynyrd Skynyrd, Joe Ely, B.B. King, The Tubes); Jack Joseph Puig (Green Day, John Mayer, Black Crows, Verve Pipe) and a coterie of equally accomplished producers. They will explore the creative, technical, business, and career-management challenges producers face in today's rapidly evolving recording industry.
Sunday, Oct. 7—3:00 to 4:30PM: The AES Platinum Engineers Panel will offer an opportunity to learn the trade secrets and pick the brains of: Bob Clearmountain (Springsteen, Roxy Music, The Pretenders, Bryan Adams); Kevin Killen (U2, Peter Gabriel, Bryan Ferry, Kate Bush, Elvis Costello); Tony Maserati (Black-Eyed Peas, Destiny's Child, Jessica Simpson, Usher); Ralph Sutton (Stevie Wonder, Elton John Mary J. Blige, Macy Gray, John Legend); Nick Sansano (Public Enemy, Bel Biv DeVoe, Bette Midler, Ice Cube), John Horesco (P Diddy, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, Chingy); Steve Rosenthal (Lou Reed, Rolling Stones, The Persuasions), and Young Guru (Jay-Z, Cam'Ron, T.I., Young Jeezy). They will share insights on the recording process and tips on navigating today's increasingly complex recording industry.
Moderating each panel is pro audio author and journalist Paul Verna. A veteran of Billboard and Mix magazines, Verna is senior entertainment analyst at eMarketer and co-author of The Encyclopedia of Record Producers.
The 123rd AES Convention will be held in NY's Jacob Javits Convention Center Oct. 5-8.
