The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (formerly the Drum Institute) has just announced that another 'galactic' drummer is to visit them and deliver an exclusive Masterclass, the fabulous Stanton Moore on Thursday 4th October at 1.00pm.
Born and raised in New Orleans, Stanton is probably best known as a founding member of Galactic but he also has a highly successful solo recording career. His studio work is extremely diverse, showing his ability to play most styles at the highest levels, and ranges from jazz-funk keyboardist Robert Walter to heavy metal act Corrosion of Conformity. The list of musicians with whom he has toured or recorded continues to grow, and includes John Scofield, the legendary George Porter, Jr. and Leo Nocentelli of the Meters, Charlie Hunter, Warren Haynes, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band and Irma Thomas to name only a few!
The Institute is proud to welcome Stanton, and he'll join the ever growing list of world class musicians who chose to spend their time sharing their wisdom with our students.
The Stanton Moore clinic will be taking place from 1pm to 3pm on Thursday 4th October. Places are very limited and for details please contact the ICMP.
