Liquid Metal Guitars Shipping M1-TV Jones Special Guiar
October 11, 2007
The Liquid Metal Guitar Company has started shipping it's M1-TV Jones Special, an old school chromed metal bodied guitar with a set of custom designed T.V. Jones pickups, the LMG 6000 and LMG 6001, making it roar.
The M1 guitar is made out of single block of 6061 T6 aircraft aluminum, polished to a shine and then plated with copper, then nickel plated and finally chromed, totally celebrating the exceptional qualities of metal. These guitars make use of the surprisingly beautiful, dynamic sustaining qualities of this metal alloy and produce a clean, rich and robust sound. It creates sustain that continues forever, that clean, rich, robust sound just beautifully hangs in the air.
LMG guitars are not another reinterpretation in wood or plastic. It is metal—machined, hard cool metal—with soothing curves and sinful cuts, whose luminescence sizzles and shimmers as only chromed metal can.
Tom, of T.V. Jones Pickups, has designed and fitted a set of custom pickups for the dynamic qualities of the guitar's metal body. "There was way more brightness in the metal than I thought there would be, it was a great surprise. I changed our design to take advantage of that. The neck pick up has a clean bright sound and the bridge pickup I made taller and thicker, so as to pick up the wholeness of the metal's dynamics" says Tom. "Its quite something"
