Mapex Introduces Special Edition "Black on Black" VX Drum Set and M Birch Set Configuration

Mapex has introduced an exciting new special edition VX Series drum set that is sure to attract the attention of selected genres of players. The new "Black on Black" set is a new six-piece, two-up, two-down configuration that features polished black lacquer shells outfitted with flat black lugs, hoops and fittings. The result is a dramatic looking set that promises to be particularly appealing to rock and metal drummers looking for a large, feature-filled drum set at an extremely competitive price.
The configuration includes a 22x18 bass drum, 10x8 and 12x9 suspended tom toms, 14x14 and 16x16 floor toms with legs and a 14x5.5 snare drum. The set also comes with a full set of Mapex 320 Series hardware, including a snare stand, hi-hat stand, straight cymbal stand, boom stand, tom holder and bass drum pedal. Manufacturer's suggested retail price for the drum set (VX6245BAPB) is $1,449.99.
The VX series was reintroduced in 2007 by Mapex and has enjoyed a robust rebirth thanks to a new series of popular lacquer finishes and many appointments, such as ITS mounts, not typically found on drum sets in its price range. VX Series shells are made using premium basswood plies that feature outstanding tone and resonance.
Special Edition M Birch Set Configuration with Free Tom
Mapex also has added a special new configuration to its M Birch Series. The new "Rock 22" configuration features a 22x18 bass drum, a 12x9 suspended tom tom, a 16x16 floor tom with legs and a 14x5.5 snare drum. Because this new configuration is an M Birch series kit, Mapex is giving consumers a free 10x8 tom tom complete with mounting hardware with the purchase of the kit.
The M Birch Rock 22 configuration is available in limited quantities and will be sold exclusively in Transparent Midnight Black lacquer, a finish that has never before been available on an M Birch drum set. Adding to the exclusivity of the set, the front bass drum head is a white, coated head with a smaller version of the Mapex logo.
The Rock 22 drum set (MB4265AMB) also comes with a full complement of Mapex 550 Series hardware, including a snare stand, hi-high stand, straight cymbal stand, boom stand, tom holder and bass drum pedal. Manufacturer's suggested retail price for the drum set is $1,199.99.
