Museum of Making Music's 5th Annual "Evening of Note" Fundraiser Features Legendary Pianist Roger Williams
May 19, 2007
The Museum of Making Music is pleased to announce its 5th
annual "Evening of Note" fundraiser to be held on Saturday, June 2, 2007
beginning at 6:00 PM at the Museum, 5790 Armada Drive in Carlsbad. The
theme for this year's event is: Music: Love It, Learn It, Make It, and
proceeds from the evening will fund educational programs, workshops,
performances and exhibits.
The evening opens with a reception, during which a variety of diverse
musical acts perform throughout the Museum galleries creating a showcase of
talented local musicians, including the Fabulous Earrings, Tyme & Againe,
the Encinitas School of Music Big Band and Chapman Stick player Tom
Griesgraber. Festivities include a silent auction, bag raffle, heavy hors
d'oeuvres, a champagne toast and light dessert. A special fundraising
presentation reflecting the theme "Music: Love it, Learn it, Make it,"
showcases the educational programs, workshops, performances and exhibits
that continue to make the Museum an essential part of the community.
Ending the night is a very special performance by Steinway Artist Roger
Williams. Named the Greatest Selling Pianist in History by Billboard
Magazine, Roger Williams has an astounding 18 Gold and Platinum Albums to
his credit. Williams' music has served as the soundtrack to the lives of
three generations. He burst onto the popular music scene in 1955 when he
recorded the only piano instrumental to ever have reached #1 on the
billboard singles charts - Autumn Leaves. Mr. Williams will be performing on
the Limited Edition Steinway Gold Piano beautifully reflecting the spirit
and genius of the celebrated pianist. With its magnificent art deco design,
the piano features a stunning gold metallic finish. Signature notes from
"Autumn Leaves" adorn the music desk; while inside, the piano has a
masterful custom-painted autumn landscape.
The Museum invites everyone to experience this fantastic evening of musical
memories. Tickets are $150 and sponsorship opportunities are still
available. For tickets, or for more information, please contact Jillian
