Steve McKinley Pedals Announces Mods For BOSS MT-2 Metal Zone Pedal

September 27, 2007

New from Steve McKinley Pedals is the "Metal Hottie" & "Lead Metal Hottie" Mods for the BOSS MT-2 Metal Zone Pedal.

Designed in conjunction with Chris Stookey, lead guitarist for Sinister Mercy and long time Steve McKinley Pedals user.

After the initial test drive, this is what Chris had to say about the Metal Hottie, "The lows had some extreme 'thump' to them. I mean EXTREME. Open 6th string chugs were enough to SHAKE the windows in my house. Pinch squeals were so harmonically saturated that I could almost smell ozone burning. She is, without a doubt, a bone-jarring brick house of a distortion pedal. I'm extremely critical of distortion sounds and the Metal Hottie is providing me with a brilliant range of inspiration tones. I needed a SEETHING metal sound...one whose brutal tone is beautifully UGLY. Perfect for Sinister rhythms! You did a fantastic job!"

But with Chris on his insatiable quest for "heavier than lead, beyond Pluto" tone he wanted a sculpted mid-range boost and smoothed top-end distortion for his cutting riffs and solo work. Back to the design chambers and the "Lead Metal Hottie" was concocted for just that, unholy distortion with definition, clarity, cut-through-the-mix qualities and extreme tone.
