The Village Recorder Hosting "From Home To Studio" Conference May 19-20 in Los Angeles
April 12, 2007
For the second year in a row, top audio professionals convene at the world-renowned Village Recorder to share their tips and tricks for making great home studio recordings and teaching the essentials to creating a successful career in audio engineering and producing to aspiring engineers. This 2-day interactive and educational conference—May 19-20, 2007—offers insight from industry pros who work with some of the industry's top artists today including Prince, Stevie Wonder and others. The conference is hosted by The Village Recorder. Sponsors include the Producers & Engineers Wing of NARAS, GC Pro, Monster Cable, MATK Corp. Blue Sky International, Glyph Technologies. A panel discussion will be moderated by comedian/actor/studio owner, Sinbad.
The conference's brainchild is that of engineer and consultant, David Hampton. For over 25 years, Hampton has contributed to the success of many top artists. Hampton's reputation is one of providing solutions and getting the job done. In his career he's worked closely with Herbie Hancock, Marcus Miller, and Rafael Saadiq, just to name a few. Additionally, he recently completed the restoration of Paisley Park Studios for Prince. His new release book, So, You're an Audio Engineer. . .Well, Here's the Other Stuff You Need to Know, is a curriculum course book for classes at Full Sail's "Recording Arts" program.
"You should learn to work with NO TOOLS before you work Pro Tools," says Hampton. "Many people will never realize their potential because they are too busy trying to show everyone how smart they are. Just like my book, this conference will present an accurate picture of some of the real information that all audio professionals need. Getting straight answers from the people developing content for all markets."
Conference attendees will benefit from panel discussions and get one-on-one time in these super sessions with some of the country's most talented engineers & producers. Among
other conference participants are Grammy® Award winning engineers Ralph Sutton (Stevie Wonder), Khaliq Glover (Prince), producer/arranger/programmer Darrell Diaz (Herbie Hancock, Arturia), Leslie Ann Jones (Skywalker Sound), Al Ramirez, Conley Abrams III, Clarence McDonald, Eric Zobler (George Duke), Morris Hayes, Randy Emata, Tina Morris.
Jeff Greenberg, CEO of The Village Recorder offers attendees a behind-the-scenes look at one of the most historical recording studios in the world. Workshop topics include "Hypnotic Audio Secrets" (Khaliq Glover), "Near Field Monitoring" (Blue Sky International's Chris Fichera), "Making Your Mixes Musical" (Ralph Sutton) and "Soft Synths in the Live World" (Darrell Diaz).
"From Home to Studio" is a great way to get connected, interact and council with industry leaders who know what it's going take to make it in the music industry.
