Tjoon Launches Facebook; Allows Musicians To Create Songs, Jam Online
September 17, 2007
Tjoon.com, the new online video recording site, launched their Facebook application. Tjoon launched 2 weeks ago and makes it possible for users to create split screen videos online. The new Facebook application works like this: a Facebook user records one track with his or her webcam. After that the user let his Facebook friensd know that there are 3 spots free. These friends in turn, record the other 3 tracks, so songs can be created online. The new Facebook application differs not much from the website, but it makes the recording feature available to a lot Facebook users. The community can adopt songs, extend and share them.
The website Tjoon is nearly 2 weeks online and a lot of musicians recorded their "Tjoon", as the creators call it, already. Online jamming or actually creating songs online has been made possible because of the application. For example at the website is a guy who is a one man band with his three alter ego's or two brothers calling themselves: "the Lake Brothers" playing funky tunes.
Tjoon is an initiative of the workers of Suite75, they created the site in their spare time. Some of them are musicians themselves and that's where the idea came from. One of the workers: "I always wanted to jam online with my friends. Because there was no site where you can actually do this, we created the place ourselves!"
With the new Facebook application, another level of online collaborative music making can be reached.
