Denon® Professional displays the DN-C635 Professional CD Player, offering a complete Compact Disc playback solution, along with CD-R/RW and MP3-encoded disc compatibility. Featuring unprecedented track and user control options, the DN-C635 provides a superb stand-alone or integrated system solution for professional audio playback.
The DN-C635 offers a wide array of features and enhancements, making it an ideal solution for professional install, live sound and studio playback operation. The unit's Shock Proof Memory assures uninterrupted audio, while a high-speed Instant Start mechanism allows for instantaneous playback when play is engaged. An innovative Auto Cue function starts playback at the first point in a track where audio is detected (selectable from -36 to -48 dB in three increments) instead of at the marked beginning of a track. A unique user Preset component of the DN-C635 provides users with the option to set pre-tailored playback functions such as Playback Mode (Single/Continuous) and Auto Cue (On/Off), while three different Function Presets Groups* can be stored in non-volatile memory via buttons on the front panel. These allow the user to preset 32 individual parameters (see chart), consisting of playback, function and user interface options.
Up to three different Program Play configurations of up to 99 user selectable tracks may be entered, edited, and stored in non-volatile memory, while an advanced memory function automatically boots up the DN-C635 in Program Mode when a programmed disc is inserted. A Rotary Track Select knob allows for easy track selection, and when rotated during playback, engages the Next-Track Reserve function, playing back the "reserved" track when playback of the current track is complete. A three-function selectable Finish Mode (Stop, Next, Recue) presets the unit to either Stop, Standby at the beginning of the Next track, or Recue to the beginning of the track being played, after finishing the current track. Standard Repeat Modes (Single Track/All Tracks) are also provided, as well as Playback Speed Control of ±12% for all supported media formats. An End Monitor function, used in Standby Mode, reviews the last 5 to 35 seconds (user preset-able) of a track, or last portion of the last track (outro) of a disc when in Continuous Mode.
Intuitive user interface options have also been designed into the DN-C635. The highly visible, easy-to-read FL tube display shows elapsed, track remaining, or total remaining time, along with a bar graph display indicating track progress. The unit also supports CD Text options, allowing easy identification of discs via the unit's display. A 20-track music calendar also helps the user track disc status. End Of Message warning, preset-able between 0 and 60 seconds, causes the display to flash when approaching the end of a track to give the user visual cues. A convenient Next Track Standby feature puts the DN-C635 into Standby Mode at the beginning of the next track when the STDBY/CUE button is pressed during playback.
As a complement to today's complex A/V systems, the DN-C635 offers a variety of In/Out capabilities and Cascade options. An adjustable XLR active balanced stereo output is provided, as well as a Digital Coaxial Output. Mono Output Playback mode can be used to provide a mix of both left and right channels. Cascade In/Out ports can be used to link multiple DN-C635's together for continuous relay playback, while the External Sync Out is used to link to Denon recorders such as the DN-780R Cassette Recorder enabling simultaneous recording. A Headphone Out with volume control is also provided.
Other additions to the DN-C635 include a Power On Playback function used for automatic playback of a disc or program sequence at a specified time when using an external timer. Serial RS-232C/422A D-sub 9 (AMX™/Crestron™ compatible) and Parallel GPI D-sub 25 pin remote ports allow for external control, including standard Fader Start operation when using a mixing console. A Sleep function shuts down the servo-controlled transport system after a selected amount of time to increase drive life.
