Globalstor Data Corporation, premier OEM Integrator of high performance RAID, SAN and storage/video servers, is pleased to introduce its new ExtremeStor-DI Tower workstation, a compact version of Globalstor's signature ExtremeStor-DI server line.

Optimum for uncompressed HD/2K capture and playback, the ExtremeStor-DI tower is a scaled down, cost-effective digital intermediate workstation that mirrors the functionality and architecture of its big brother. The sleek dual Quad Core tower-based workstation is built for easy installation and equipped with 10 Fault tolerant hot swappable SATA drives that can support a wide range of RAID levels including RAID 5.

"As a data storage solutions developer and provider, Globalstor Data Corporation recognizes that there are various degrees of needs and services among today's post production industry," says Globalstor Data Corporation President Scott Leif. "The ExtremeStor-DI Tower is the ideal system for post production facilities that are in need of high-quality HD 2K capture, playback and color correction applications but do not require the abundance of drives offered within our ExtremeStor-DI server line. Like the ExtremeStor-DI server, the ExtremeStor-DI Tower shares in its robust design, but presents it in a smaller, lightweight, portable system that allows it to be marketed at an affordable price point."

While the ExtremeStor-DI Tower offers a cost-effective alternative option, Leif says the new product proves efficient in many other ways. "The ExtremeStor-DI Tower comes with a cost of .001 tenths of a cent per megabyte, making it one of the lowest cost per Gigabyte solutions available in today's industry," says Leif. "Its versatility and portability enables digital intermediate facilities to enhance their quality of service and productivity in a time effective manner, which is achieved by providing HD ready storage at on-site film locations that can go directly back to the edit bay within the same day. This allows editors improved management and content processing, making digital dailies a breeze."

With capacities ranging from 2.5TB to 10TB, the ExtremeStor-DI Tower integrates Dual Intel® Xeon® or AMD Opteron™ Quad Core processors for maximized computing power that can deliver up to 600Mb/sec of sustained data throughput in RAID 5. It is compatible with Windows XP™ or Windows 2003 open platform operating systems on a RAID protected boot disk drive. In combining the ExtremeStor-DI Tower hot-swappable disk drives, you achieve a well-equipped solution for safeguarding against downtime and critical data loss.
