Mark Kaltman, President of Kaltman Creations LLC. (http://www.kaltmancreationsllc.com/) announced today the introduction of a new series of PC-based RF spectrum analyzers, specifically designed for the Professional Audio and Video industries. Called Invisible Waves, these new analyzers are touted as the world first, PC-based RF spectrum analyzers which offer automatic charting of open white space (open RF frequency) for use with wireless microphones, in-ear monitors, remote control, etc.

The first in the new series of Kaltman analyzers is the Invisible Waves model IW1800. The IW1800 covers the frequency span of 100KHz to 1.8GHz making it ideal for VHF and UHF analysis and extending into the lower gigahertz ranges. Future models will include the Invisible Waves model IW4000 which will cover the span of 100KHz to 4GHz and the IW7000 covering the frequency span of 100KHz to 7GHz. Resolution bandwidth (RBW) in all models is 1KHz with a typical sensitivity of -120dbm, which places the Kaltman Invisible Waves RF spectrum analyzers right along side top of the line, hardware based models.

Mark Kaltman commented on the process of bring this product to market, "We sat down with a focus group of professional audio engineers and AV integrators, and asked what they needed in a RF spectrum analyzer to help overcome the current and impending wireless 'crunch'. Their first response was the ability to find open space for frequency and channels selection followed by the ability to identify and locate interference. Other items of importance included ease of use, logging & reporting capabilities, portability, and of course, affordability."

The Invisible Waves analyzers seem to answer those requirements with an Automatic White Space Finder that identifies all open RF space within a user-defined range. The White Space Finder even goes as far as to graphically depicting the ideal positioning of your transmitters within the given open space. The analyzers also have very intuitive and very easy to use sweep analysis, (including the ability to split-screen the display into simultaneous broad span sweeps and a zoomed-in view), spectral image printout capability, and extended logging & playback capability. The analyzers are sold as complete kits that include a built-in rechargeable battery pack, AC adaptor / charger, multiple antennas, and a quick USB to PC connection, all enclosed in a pre-configured, laptop sized, high-impact carrying case. As for affordability, the IW1800 complete analyzer kit is only $1,495.

Kaltman closed the announcement by stating, "Working with our independent software developer, Nuts About Nets LLC, (http://www.nutsaboutnets.com/), we were able to bring together both custom designed and off the shelf RF components with groundbreaking, yet-user friendly PC software. The end result was an affordable, audio engineer friendly, PC-based RF Analyzer kit that competes with high-priced top of the line RF spectrum analyzers!"
