Reverend now offers the Manta Ray HB guitar with flame maple top. Part of their Set-Neck Series, the Manta Ray HB features two Reverend humbucker pickups, Reverend Pin-Lock tuners, Bass Contour control, block inlays and neck binding.
This jazz/blues/rock guitar produces the response and acoustic richness of a classic full size semi-hollow, but with a slightly smaller and slimmer body. The bridge pickup is slightly hotter than a vintage PAF, and the neck pickup slightly cleaner for balanced tone and output. The versatile Bass Contour control can imitate single-coil pickups (but with no hum), allowing the guitar to go from rock crunch to clean twang.
Solid wood construction is featured throughout, with no veneer or plywood. The back, sides and center block are produced from one slab of korina which is routed from the top, and then capped with a solid maple top and a veneer of premium flame maple. Sustain and attack are enhanced, and coupled with substantial resonance for a lively and responsive instrument.
