New BassForce Amps from Hughes & Kettner
March 3, 1999 -- Hughes & Kettner introduced a complete new line of bass amplifiers at the International Musik Messe in Frankfurt, Germany. The new BassForce series is for bass players seeking excellent value in a compact, high-performance combo. The new design, in a stylish dark-red housing, has a slanting shape that offers significantly better sound projection, since the speaker is aimed at the player's ears instead of his knees. High-efficiency DynaClip power amps in the three models ensures that the player's musical statement can heard even in loud bands. All BassForce models, "L", "XL" and "XXL", with 100, 200, and 300 watts respectively, include a 15" speaker for hard-hitting lows and growling mids. The two larger models also include a switchable high-frequency horn for featuring the upper harmonics as desired, as well as an "EQ Matrix" rotary switch, an especially effective tone-shaping tool that calls up typical sound settings at the turn of a dial. These fundamental sounds can then be further adjusted to the player's personal style and taste with the additional 3-band EQ. All BassForce amps are loud and powerful, easy to use, and offer a tonal variety that will satisfy even the demanding player. At the same time, the amps are eminently portable and affordable. Availability: End of March, 1999. For more information, visit their web site at www.hughes-and-kettner.com.
