New MIDI-Module In Samplitude & New Controller for SEK'D Software
March 3, 1999 -- MIDI from a company known for digital audio? This makes more sense than you might first think! Regardless of your approach, the end result is sound ... you know, audio. The quality of that audio is the most important factor, not whether you played an instrument in real-time or triggered a MIDI device. With that in mind, SEK'D, known for high resolution audio recording and editing, has added the ability to record, playback and edit MIDI tracks as well as audio tracks. This means you can keep the exceptional sound quality and productivity of Samplitude without having to run an additional MIDI sequencer program on your PC! SEK'D has added both the ability to control Samplitude from a hands-on controller and a new product, a moving fader motorized controller called the SEK'D Control Master 1. This mixer control surface offers 8, bank-switchable motorized faders plus 8 rotary pots, 68 switches and much more for controlling Samplitude and Red Roaster in the most comfortable way ever! SEK'D Control Master I is THE hands-on controller for use with SEK'D software. Samplitude now has added the ability to control many aspects of the program directly from a MIDI control surface. Use real hardware faders and buttons to mix your audio, draw equalization curves, move objects, and generally control Samplitude with actual hardware controls. MIDI controllers such as the SEK'D Control Master I motorized controller and the Peavey PC 1600 send information in MIDI standard format to the Samplitude Control Panel, which translates this information to a message the program can understand and process. Samplitude then receives this information and uses it for internal operations, like setting the Volume-Fader in the mixer or horizontal scrolling in a VIP project. The Control Panel has the ability to "learn" MIDI commands so that any fader, button or other data control (such as a data wheel) on your MIDI controller can perform functions within Samplitude. This capability is a breakthrough for those who love the power and flexibility of recording and editing on a computer, but prefer to use "hands-on" controls! After all, if you learned to mix with real faders, there simply is no practical substitute. For more information, visit Sek'D at http://www.sekd.com/
