Korg Introduces Soundlink Digital Recording Systems

July 12, 1996 -- Korg presents its SoundLink Digital Recording Systems, a new line of integrated products that bring completely digital, fully automated, component based recording to the market at breakthrough prices.

The 168RC Recording Console: a fully digital 16x8x2 device equipped with two ADAT optical inputs, eight analog inputs featuring 18 bit A/D convertors, two internal effects processors and full console automation.

The SoundLink DRS 1212 I/O PCI Multi-Channel Audio Interface with DECK II features OSC's award winning software specifically designed for audio applications plus 12 inputs and 12 outputs configured as two analog I/Os, an S/PDIF I/O and an eight channel ADAT optical I/O.

Korg will also present the new RM 8 Reference Monitors and the RMA 240 Monitor Amplifier. The RM8s, housing 7" long throw woofers and 1" tweeters, feature matched components. They are designed to provide accurate, low distortion sonic reproduction with extremely low levels of listening fatigue and are magnetically shielded to eliminate interference with computers and video monitors.

The companion RMA 240 Monitor Amplifier produces 120 Watts of output per side into 8 Ohms and can be bridged. The front panel includes level controls as well as level and clip LEDs. Both balanced XLR and TRS connectors are provided.

According to Rod Revilock, Korg USA's manager of professional audio products, "Additional product releases are forthcoming. Our intent is to bring to market an affordable, fully-integrated digital recording system that will provide the recording musician with the means to create, record and produce music entirely within the digital domain."

Revilock continued, "SoundLink DRS products will be available through a highly select group of Korg Professional Audio retailers and backed by an intensive program that includes advertising, training and after-sales support."
