Fender Unveils DG-11 and DG-16 Acoustic Guitars

The DG-16

July 11, 1997 -- For those players who are seeking high-quality acoustic guitars at affordable prices, Fender Musical Instruments has risen to the occasion with the release of the DG-11 and DG-16 models.

"Both guitars combine the elegance and beauty that's ideal for any type of playing," noted Ed Rizzuto, marketing manager for Fender's acoustic guitar division. "They're also priced in the low-to-mid price range, yet have features that are normally found in higher-priced guitars."

For starters, for that warm, bright sound acoustic players crave, both models feature spruce tops with mahogany back and sides. While the DG-11 features a rosewood-stained fingerboard, black pickguard, dot position marks and chrome-covered tuning heads, its DG-16 counterpart comes equipped with a rosewood A-grade fingerboard, snowflake position marks, tortoise pickguard and chrome-diecast tuning heads. Both models are available in Natural Gloss, Sunburst Gloss and Black Gloss finishes. U.S. suggested retail price is $299.00 for the DG-11 and $369.00 for the DG-16.
