Parker Fly Classic

July 11, 1997 -- Parker Guitars introduces its latest color option for the Parker NiteFly: Transparent Blue. The NiteFly, a 22-fret, bolt-on neck version of the Fly, in keeping with the Parker tradition of creating guitars that are light and responsive, tips the scales at about 6 pounds.

As with the original Fly, the NiteFly's basswood neck features a layer of high-modulus carbon and glass fiber (as thin as a coat of paint) molded to its back. It's fingerboard is also made of a similar composite-strong, yet lightweight and fast. In addition, the guitar features "jumbo" spring-tempered, stainless steel frets. It also has a free-floating spring vibrato system utilizing a premium steel and high-strength aluminum bridge.

The NiteFly's maple body is available in both solid and transparent colors. In addition to the new Transparent Blue color, the Parker NiteFly is also available in Sunburst, Black, White and Transparent Red.

Three custom DiMarzio pickups in either hum/single/single or single/single/single configurations are mounted on the pickguard. A Fishman passive-piezo-transducer system is located in the bridge.

The Transparent Blue colored NiteFly's list prices are $1299 for triple single configurations and $1349 for the hum/single/single coil configuration. Prices include a custom designed soft case.

Parker Guitars' Honduras Mahogany Fly Classics are now also available in Transparent Blue, along with Metallic Root Beer, Transparent Cherry, Natural Mahogany, and Teal.

Parker Classic solid body guitars are crafted from Honduras Mahogany tonewoods chosen for their great response and sustain. The instrument comes equipped with magnetic humbucking and active piezo pickup systems enabling the guitar to go from electric to acoustic sounds, as well as any combination.

The Fly Classic model features spring-tempered, stainless-steel frets, locking Sperzel tuning machines, a Fishman, active-piezo pickup system plus DiMarzio magnetic pickups. The guitar features controls for master volume, magnetic tone, magnetic volume, piezo volume, and piezo tone. A three-position humbucker selector gives the option of neck, bridge or neck/bridge inside coils for that "in- between" sound.

The Transparent Blue Fly Classic lists for $2850.00 The price includes a hard-shell, molded Hiscox case, and is available now.
