Top Selling GAX70 Ibanez Guitars Appear in New Guise
July 10, 1998 -- Two new finishes, Jewel Blue and Butterscotch Transparent join the original two GAX70 finishes at the Nashville NAMM show. "The GAX70 may be the most successful lower price solid body introductions in our history," said Masashi Inoue of Ibanez USA. "Our reps were ecstatic with GAX70 sales and dealer reaction. But of course, that just whetted their appetites for more. Well, we gave them more -- and as a result these guitars in Jewel Blue and Butterscotch look like they cost a whole lot more. But they're still the same affordable price."
