MetaLithic Announces "Elite Studio Hardware"

High-performance, open architecture, multiple audio I/0 for Windows

July 10, 1998 -- MetaLithic's Elite Studio Hardware, with 16 channels of analog I/0 (8 in/8 out) plus SPDIF digital I/0, sets a new standard in quality audio hardware for Windows systems. Designed to provide the hardware muscle for popular applications such as Cakewalk Pro Audio, Cool Edit Pro, Cubase VST, Logic Audio, Sound Forge, WaveLab, and many others, the Elite Studio Hardware is the only audio recording interface that can be stacked to provide 3 2 channels of analog I/0 (16 in/ 16 out) along with 2 sets of SPDIF I/0.

Elite Studio Hardware's 32-bit PCI card connects to a 10x10 rack-mount breakout box through a single standard LAN cable, allowing for a neat, uncluttered studio setup. 20-bit, pro-grade converters for the 8 analog ins and 8 analog outs stay outside the computer, in the breakout box, for extremely quiet operation. To insure the highest possible fidelity, precision engineered analog circuitry around the data converters delivers spacious digital sound imaging. For S/PDIF, Elite Studio Hardware fully conforms to the IEC-958 specification and utilizes adaptive jitter filter technology for improved data recovery.

Beyond the specs, though, the Elite Studio Hardware has to be heard to be believed: transparent sound, exemplary head room, and ultra-low distortion give added value to the already competitive price ($1,248 MSRP), and bring out the best in your software of choice. MetaLithic is offering the Elite Studio Hardware at an introductory promotional price of $1,098 through the end of July 1998. Furthermore, MetaLithic backs its products with a 1-year warranty, free technical support, worldwide distribution, and innovative hardware technology that can be upgraded via software updates.

The Elite Studio Hardware is currently shipping with standard Windows Multimedia drivers; ASIO drivers are due in August. Elite Studio Hardware, as well as Digital Wings for Audio Elite, will be featured during Summer NAMM (Nashville, 7/10 - 7/12) at the ThinKware booth (#3432).
