Music Interface Technologies Introduces Ripcord High Energy Guitar Cable

July 10, 1998 -- Music Interface Technologies (MIT) of Auburn, California announces another product to their line of premium Music Instrument cable products.

The US premier for the latest addition to the MIT MI line-up was at Summer NAMM. The Ripcord HE (High Energy) is a new version of the groundbreaking Ripcord Guitar Interface cable. Utilizing similar passive network designs as the original Ripcord, the Ripcord HE is designed for the guitarist that prefers an overdriven sound. The noise reducing networks are specifically designed for the frequencies these players are listening to. The sonic benefits of the Ripcord HE are reduced noise, improved precision of attack and richer tone, without losing any of the hard overdriven edge.

"Our experience with Neal Schon was very helpful in the development of this product," says MIT product engineer Tim Brisson. "He listens and hears guitar sound a little differently than we do here at MIT." MIT founder and chief designer Bruce Brisson concurs, "Our background is in High-End audio where we listen for pure tonality and clarity. That's great for the player who likes a clean sound. But in my work with Paul Reed Smith we noticed that we seemed to be losing a little something in the overdriven sound. That's why we developed the HE."

Ripcord HE is available in standard lengths of 10, 15, and 20 ft. with longer and custom lengths available upon request. Retail price is $100.00 (10 ft.)
