Slingerland Celebrates 70 Years with New Percussion Products

July 10, 1998 -- Slingerland is celebrating 70 years of quality as the ultimate in percussion. Three of Slingerland's 70th anniversary products were on display at the NAMM show.

The new Studio King Touring Series in exquisite hand-rubbed satin stains is legendary Slingerland quality at an affordable price. The kit is available in a wide choice of luxurious hand-rubbed satin stains or classic wrap finishes. Slingerland offers a unique suspension system as standard equipment on mounted toms. The kit is equipped with beautifully engraved 2.3 millimeter chrome-plated Stick Saver Rim-Shot hoops. Studio King has all-maple shells with exclusive Slingerland True-Timbre TM hand-burnished bearing edges. Optional newly-designed Magnamax hardware packages are available.

Slingerland has also introduced the exclusive 70th Anniversary Snare Drum. The 5 1/2" x 14" Studio King Snare Drum is available in champagne sparkle lacquer with tube lugs.

The newly improved Spitfire drum kits, featuring the new Tre Cool Signature Series, is reasonably priced for entry-level musicians. Tre's set includes:

  • 16" x 22" bass drum with Tre Cool logo bass drum heads - 11" x 14" & 16" x 16" toms
  • Double-braced hardware pack with snare stand, hi-hat stand, cymbal stand, boom cymbal stand & heavy-duty, chain-drive bass drum pedal
  • Toms & bass drums finished in Tre Cool's own Indica Green wrap finish
  • All drums equipped with super-strong 2.3 millimeter Slingerland Stick-Saver Rim hoot hoops
