Yamaha Announces MU128 XG Tone Module
July 10, 1998 -- Yamaha has once again packed some awesome power into a very small package. The MU128 features 128-note polyphony and is 64-part multitimbral with full XG compatibility. If that's not enough, the MU128 has room for three expansion boards such as the PLG100-VL Virtual Acoustic, PL100-VH Vocal Harmony, and PLG100-DX FM Synthesis Boards. When a plug-in board is added, the new preset are automatically grouped together in the appropriate categories (brasses, strings, piano, etc.). The MU128 also has built in effects that can be used on the synthesizer voices or the live audio inputs. The MU128 should be available in September, 1998. Connectors
