Johnson Amplification Intros JT50 Mirage

July 23, 1999 -- The JT50 Mirage 50-watt 1x12 guitar amplifier combo is the easiest to use and most affordable modeling amp that Johnson Amplification has ever offered.

The JT50 Mirage models a dozen of the world's most sought after modern and vintage amplifiers. Tone controls accurately emulate the authentic EQ points of each specific amp model, while Johnson Amplification's exclusive VoTube digital technology delivers the warmth and dynamic response one would think only possible from a real tube amplifier.

Once guitarists have dialed up their Amp Type and adjusted the Gain and Tone controls to suit their tastes, they can add up to three effects to complete their sound. There are seven Modulation and Pitch Shifting effects, Delay (up to 2.5 seconds with Tap-It tempo) and two Reverb types (Programmable Hall and Spring Reverb) to choose from, each with individual controls for flexibly tailoring the sound. A stereo FX loop is also available for external effects processors and pedals.

The JT50 Marquis comes equipped with 21 pre-programmed user presets designed to provide a wide array of sounds for a variety of musical applications. The straightforward controls make preset selection and fine tuning a breeze. Programming menus have been replaced with clearly labeled knobs, making preset creation easy, and a total of 21 user preset locations provide plenty of room for storing custom effects.

Pushing a respectable 50 watts of power out of a single Johnson Premium 12-inch loudspeaker, guitarists are assured of having enough juice for any live situation. An optional J8 foot controller offers effortless remote switching, as well as adds tuner and wah capabilities to the JT50 Mirage. Additional amenities include a headphone out that doubles as a speaker compensated direct out, 24-bit A/D and D/A converters, a sleek MDF cabinet finished with Johnson's virtually indestructible Univinyl covering and an optional J3 three-button footswitch.

Despite all of these impressive features, the JT50 Mirage features a highly-affordable US pro users net price of only $649.00.
