Sabine Releases Graphi-Q Remote Control Software Version 2.10

July 29, 1999 -- Sabine has released a much-improved version of the remote control software for the Graphi-Q Digital 31-Band EQ, FBX Feedback Exterminator(r), Parametric EQ, Compressor, and Delay, packed into a one- or two-U box.

Graphi-Q Remote Software give the same hands-on feel as the Graphi-Q's front panel, and allows the user to control up to eight Graphi-Qs simultaneously; set parametric filters, FBX filter-depth, graphic EQ filter width, and password protection; store 70 presets; and view and edit response curves.

Version 2.10 improvements:

  • The version 2.10 main screen is more attractively and ergonomically organized. All common controls can now be accessed directly from the main screen. Graphic EQ adjustments can be made quickly and easily using keyboard arrow keys. All parameter settings can now be entered by clicking the right mouse button and typing a number. All parameter values appear in pop up windows when controls are clicked. The bypass section is simplified. Many additional keyboard shortcuts have been added.
  • The new Remote Control Software enables control of two sets of up to 8 units per set (using two COMM ports) from a single computer-that means up to 16 channels per set! Individual channels and/or parameters can be linked for control with a single keystroke. Up to 8 "Absolute" and 8 "Relative" groups can be created for simultaneous linking.
  • One software command allows either single memory presets, or entire preset libraries to be saved, loaded, or copied from one unit to another. Contact closure memory loading has been expanded to allow 68 preset assignments (128 switch combinations). There are now three quick save/load snapshot memories.
  • Front panel default parameters (compressor knee, attack and release; limiter threshold; high and low filter slope; EQ filter width, depth, persistence and sensitivity) previously adjustable only with the software can now be reprogrammed.
  • Three levels of password access are now available for varying levels of security.
  • Context-sensitive help screens are placed throughout the software for quick reference.
  • High and low cut filters can have either 12 or 24 dB/octave slope. Delay times can be adjusted for ambient temperature. Sensitivity and Persistence (for FBX filters) have been added to Global Parameter settings.

Graphi-Q Remote Control Software Version 2.10 can be used with earlier units providing the unit is "flashed" with Firmware Version 2.10. Both upgrades are free and can be downloaded from the Sabine website (www.SabineUSA.com)

The Graphi-Q is available in 4 models, a 1U single channel unit (with two outputs), the GRQ-3101; a 2U dual channel unit, the GRQ-3102; as well as blank front panel, computer-controlled units, the GRQ-3101S and GRQ-3102S.

The Graphi-Q features:

  • 24-bit digital conversion
  • 32-bit floating-point SHARC processing
  • 31-band graphic EQ with switchable boost/cut of either 6 or 12 dB
  • High Cut Filter (3kHz to 20kHz) and Low Cut Filter (1kHz to 20Hz)
