biasDECK Now on OS 9

February 23, 2000 -- Berkley Integrated Audio Software (BIAS) has completed the updates necessary to make their biasDECK multi-track digital audio soft-ware fully compatible with Apple's OS 9. The result is even higher performance for the industry-leading program.

BiasDeck provides up to 999 virtual tracks and 64 simultaneous tracks on most Macs with no additional audio hardware required. Its real-time DSP effects include graphic and parametric EQs, delay, chorus and more.

Mutes, Pans and Level controls are automat-ed, with SMPTE/EBU and MTC sync standard. BiasDeck supports Adobe Premiere audio plug-ins and has ASIO drivers to support any industry-standard ASIO-compatible sound card (including the MOTU 2408/1224, Layla/ Gina/Darla, E-mu APS, Digidesign Pro Tools Project II and Audio Media III, Sonorous STUDI/O, Yamaha DSP Factory, Lexicon Core 2, and RME DIGI series).

When OS 9 was released, biasDECK owners discovered that changes made by Apple in Sound Manager interfered with the program's operation, preventing them from moving to the new operating system.

The result was an immediate project launch by BIAS’s software engineers, who uncovered and eliminated the code incompatabilities. The result is biasDECK performance that sets new standards – and a free downloadable code patch on the BIAS website so existing bias-DECK owners can take advantage of it.
