Boss Introduces TU-70 Autotuner
February 14, 2000 -- BOSS is proud to introduce the affordable TU-70 Guitar & Bass Auto Tuner the first LCD tuner with a backlit display. This low-cost, compact tuner is perfect for guitar and bass players needing a quick and easy way to tune up, particularly where lighting is low, such as on stage. To make tuning easy, the TU-70s backlit LCD features a super-smooth tuning needle icon, resulting in a tuning resolution that is 30%-75% higher than competing models. In addition to standard flat and double-flat tuning, the TU-70 features an open tuning capability for simplified Open D, E, G and A tunings. Guitar players will appreciate having both the guitar string number and fret icon in the TU-70s display, making tuning more intuitive. And bass players can change the display from the standard 4-string setting to accommodate 5- and 6-string bass guitars. Because the TU-70 supports both guitar and bass, a convenient memory backup function remembers the current mode so users can quickly tune up from power on. To prevent unnecessary battery consumption, the backlit LCD will dim after three minutes of idleness, and the entire tuner will shut down after 10 minutes of inactivity.
