Crate Introduces DXJ112 Digital Amp
February 21, 2000 -- Crate has announced a new addition to their DX digital amplifier series, the DXJ112. A smaller version of the DX212 (voted MMR's Amp of the Year, January 2000) the DXJ112 will feature a single 12" driver, 60-watts, and will maintain all the functionality of the DX series. Crate product manager Pat Stevenson commented, "The DXJ112 has been developed for players in the market for an easily transportable amplifier, with the great sound and effects that the Crate DX Series offers. Now the DX series will be available to an even more extensive range of players." The DX Digital Series offers a wide variety of settings and effects easily accessed by an intuitive keypad. It features 16 true to the original "classic amp" voices, plus an additional 16 digital effects including: Touch Wah, compressor, tremolo, vibrato, chorus, flange, delay, echo, and rotating speaker. Effects can be combined, customized, and governed using options such as the effect adjust control and the One Touch Programming Keypad. The Keypad allows users to save and recall up to 10 of their favorite settings as well as control tap function or access factory pre-sets. Or, with the optional Crate DXFC foot controller, users can access up to 128 of their favorite pre-sets, as well as adjust effects and tap settings on fly. Stevenson added, "With the largest array of products offering digital technology to a wide cross-section of players we are promoting Crate as The Digital Source for 2000 and beyond. The new DXJ112 helps support this claim." The DXJ112 will begin shipping in April of 2000 and will have a list price of $699.99.
