February 17, 2000 - Representing a sophisticated approach to wireless in-ear monitoring, Samson’s new UHF EarAmp has been designed with several breakthrough features such as a diversity receiver for the best possible reception in hostile RF environments. The UHF EarAmp system is the first of its kind to offer a receiver with true diversity circuitry that significantly reduces dropouts and interference and provides the best possible reception. Housed in a metal case and equipped with an array of onboard controls that allow the performer to optimize the system’s audio quality with minimal noise levels, the receiver can deliver up to 200 mW of stereo audio to the system’s ear pieces.

Designed to provide maximum frequency versatility, the system operates on two different UHF bandwidths and features 128 synthesized frequencies for use in the United States. It also offers an equally large number of synthesized frequencies for use in Europe depending on the channel plan and the country selected.

The 19" rack-mountable transmitter’s front panel features a back-lit, two-line LCD that displays the current operating group, channel and corresponding frequency along with a LED audio level indicator for both channels. Other features include main and auxiliary inputs that operate in mono and stereo and feature independent gain adjustment and a high performance limiter to reduce distortion.

Frequency-synthesized, the transmitter and receiver can easily be re-programmed for different venues. Once the transmitter is set to a desired operating frequency, any number of receivers can be automatically programmed to receive that channel. Remote monitoring of audio levels and setup of channels and other functions can be done from a PC.
