Cakewalk Provides Free Upgrades to Owners of Cakewalk Pro Audio 6, Professional 6, and Home Studio 6 Software

January 29, 1998 -- Cakewalk has announced Cakewalk Purchase Protection, a program that provides free upgrades to customers purchasing Cakewalk Pro Audio 6, Professional 6 and Home Studio 6 software between January 29, 1998 and May 31, 1998. Cakewalk plans to ship Pro Audio 7, Professional 7, and Home Studio 7 in the second quarter of 1998.

To receive the upgrade, buyers simply need to attach proof of purchase to the product registration card and return it within 30 days of purchase. Free upgrades will ship automatically when available. Shipping costs may apply outside the U.S. and Canada.

"Now, customers can start creating music and sound right away, knowing that even more advanced features are on the way free of charge," said Kip Garlow, vice president of sales, Cakewalk. "Purchase Protection delivers the best of Cakewalk today and tomorrow."

Cakewalk's Pro Audio 7, Professional 7 and Home Studio 7 upgrades will debut 32-bit real-time audio effects in each product, as well as an easier-to-use interface and a new on-screen mixing console.

Cakewalk products are available worldwide and can be purchased in computer and consumer-electronic superstores, music-equipment stores, as well as printed and online catalogs.
