New From Fender - Deluxe Series Models

January 29, 1998 -- With a newly designed "Powerhouse" ultra quiet single coil pickup system combined with the 12 db active mid boost circuit, Fender's Deluxe Powerhouse Strat® packs a powerful sonic punch. The classic Stratocaster design includes a poplar body, a one-piece maple neck equipped with 21 medium jumbo frets, white shell pickguard, vintage hardware, rosewood or maple fretboard, and master "no-load" tone control. Comes factory equipped with genuine Fender strings for optimum tone and performance. Deluxe gig bag included.

Deluxe Powerhouse Strat®

The 12 db active circuit feature of the Deluxe Powerhouse Strat increases the mid-range signal, producing a fat, sustained tone with a range of dynamics that a player controls with a knob onboard the guitar. The knob, which takes the place of a pedal, increases the gain and natural sound distortion, keeps the noise down, and offers a wealth of versatility to the player.

Deluxe Super Strat®

The classically contoured Fender Deluxe Super Strat® is notable for its newly-designed Super Fat "Super" Strat single coil pickups. With the Deluxe "Super" switching, players can choose from seven pickup combinations. Features an ash body, a one-piece maple neck equipped with 21 medium jumbo frets, vintage gold hardware, a brown shell pickguard, and a deluxe gig bag. Comes factory equipped with genuine Fender strings for optimum tone and performance.

With the Deluxe Super Strat, players have the convenience of using a ,guitar with a factory-installed, popular after-market modification. This Strat adds two extra pickup combos not normally available with the traditional 5-way switch. With the 5-way switch in the fifth position, pressing the button on the pickguard activates the bridge pickup, giving players the bridge and neck combination that produces a tone usually only found on the Telecaster. Moving the 5-way switch into the 4th position and with the button pressed, players get all three pickups in use simultaneously, reminscient of the quacky tone of positions 2 and 4 on the 5-way switch but with a little more body.

Deluxe Nashville Tele®

Down home and versatile, Fender's Deluxe "Nashville" Tele® has an alder body with a one-piece maple neck, with two Tex-Mex(TM) Tele pickups in the neck and bridge positions and a Tex-Mex Strat® pickup in the middle. This "Music City" namesake also includes a rosewood or maple fretboard, brown shell pickguard, an original 6-saddle strings-through body Tele bridge, and 5-way Strat-O-Tone switching. Comes factory equipped with genuine Fender strings for optimum tone and performance.

The Deluxe Nashville Tele is unique because it has a Stratocaster-esque type tone, a 5-way switch like a Strat, and a Strat pickup in the middle position on a Tele body. Drawing from tones closely associated with the Nashville style of definitive and articulate tonal response, it offers players a two-guitars-in-one model.

"Whether they're in the studio or on the road, Nashville guitarists are called upon to get a variety of good tones fast," says Bruce Bolen, head of Fender Artist Relations in Nashville. "The Deluxe Nashville Tele gets the job done."

Deluxe "Active" Jazz Bass® and Deluxe "Active" Jazz Bass® V-string

What differentiates Fender's Deluxe "Active" Jazz Bass® and the V-string version from the rest? The U.S. hum-cancelling Deluxe Jazz Bass Pickups and the U.S. Deluxe Jazz Bass Electronics combined with time-tested features of our Standard Jazz Bass. Classic Jazz Bass "offset" waist shape, a poplar body with a one-piece maple neck, a rosewood fretboard with 20 frets, dynamic select (panpot), vintage-style bridge, brown shell pickguard, and deluxe gig bag included. Comes factory equipped with genuine Fender strings for optimum tone and performance.

Designed for serious players, Fender's Deluxe Active Jazz Bass IV and V string are moderately-priced, high-performance instruments. While traditional passive tone controls typically just roll off "highs", these modified Jazz Basses offer total control over low, mid and high frequencies with three individual tone controls. Each control allows the player the ability to add or subtract tonal frequencies as needed.
