Ludwig Announces Rocker Pro Series Drums

January 29, 1998 -- Ludwig Industries has introduced an exciting new line of drums designed for the semi-professional and advancing drummer, the New Rocker Pro Series. According to Jim Catalano, Ludwig's Marketing Manager, "The Rocker Pro is manufactured with Birch and Italian Poplar Shells made in our Monroe, North Carolina USA factory. The best news is the great look and sound for under the $2,000 retail price range. This expands our Ludwig Drum product to a new price niche in the market. We plan to put drummers of the world into a great quality Ludwig kit with genuine Ludwig USA made birch shells, at a competitive price."

The LR2605EC - 5 Pc. Rocker Pro Jazz Outfit has a USA suggested retail price of $1,895, while the LR2625EC - 5 Pc. Power Sized Rocker Pro lists $1,995.

The LR2605EC includes a 16x22" Bass, 14x14" Floor Tom, 5x14" Matching Snare, and Toms of 8x10" and 10x12". The LR2625EC has a 16x22" Bass, 16x16" Floor Tom, 6.5x14" Snare, and Toms of 10x12" and 11x13".

The USA made shells are 7mm, 7 Ply Birch and Italian Poplar fitted with the new Mini-Lugs. Other features include the Elite Tom Holder, Elite Bass Drum Spurs, and double Silver Keystone Badges. Hardware includes the 800 Series Ludwig Modular Stands and the Modular LM914FP Foot Pedal. Catalano continued, "The new Elite Tom Holder System really adds a new dimension to all of Ludwig's drum products. The system has a 10.5mm L-Arm system on a Omni-poly Ball for infinite positioning."

New Satin Natural Finishes include: Midnight Black (#16), Hunter Green (#17), Natural Birch (#18), and Sea Blue (#19). Component Drums available include: Bass Drums; 16x20", 16x22", Floor Toms 14x14", 16x16", 16x18", Tom-Toms; 8x8", 8x10", 10,12", 11x13", and 12x14", and Snare Drums; 5x14", 6.5x14". Rocker Pro Series Drums are fitted as standard with genuine Ludwig Weather Master Drumheads, made in the USA.
