Power Technology Announces Support For 96kHz Effects Processing

January 20, 1998 -- Power Technology has announced a significant breakthrough in audio processing technology with the introduction of the first PC effects plug-in bundle to support 96kHz sampling rate processing. Power Technology's recently-released DSP*FX Virtual Pack is being enhanced to include full 96kHz processing support.

Since its inception, Power Technology has worked on the cutting edge of high quality audio, and has been the only audio company to develop both hardware and software products that exclusively utilize the advanced 32 bit floating point format. The DSP*FX 32 bit floating point format and its associated 1500 db dynamic range results in superior audio processing. The combination of Power Technology's world class effects algorithms and the 96kHz 32 bit floating point format yields effects quality which is proven to surpass any other hardware or software-based effects processing system on the market.

"We feel that this is the first time a PC-based software system is clearly providing better audio processing quality than any other technology out there," comments Paul Titchener, Ph.D., Power Technology president. "Its a very exciting time in the audio world."

The 96kHz version of Power Technology's DSP*FX Virtual Pack will be compatible with a range of PC-based audio production packages which support the Direct X interface, including the recently announced Samplitude Gold product from SEK'D.
