Remo Unveils Renaissance Timpani Heads

January 29, 1998 -- Calling them a new beginning for timpanists the world over, Remo, Inc. has recently introduced its complete line of Renasiance Timpani Heads. The new Renaissance Timpani Heads utilize a newly developed, proprietary treatment process that adds a sound-enhancing texture to the playing surface of Remo's specially-selected, performance-proven timpani head films. Available in a full range of sizes (20 to 35 inches) with a choice of steel or aluminum insert rings, Renaissance Timpani Heads are custom-made, premium quality heads that are offered in dark and light models.

"Renaissance takes us back and gets us even closer to the classic sound of calf-skin without sacrificing the superior stability, consistency and performance of mylar," says Remo vice-president of sales and marketing, Lloyd McCausland. "The Renaisance heads have a beautifully deep, dark tone plus the brightness, clarity and projection that have made Remo Timpani heads the choice of the world's leading timpanists for nearly 40 years."

McCausland adds that Renaissance Timpani Heads are the result of Remo's extensive Research and development along with a field-testing program that has incorporated input from top orchestral and studio timpanists as well as university-level music educators around the country.
