EMF Acoustics Announces Entity Acoustic Instrument System
January 28, 1999 -- Based on input from artists around the world we have created a new system called the Entity. It is a combination of a B-Band pickup, a condenser mic, an onboard phantom powered endpin preamp and an external control preamplifier. The B-Band input of the external Entity control amp utilizes special transresistance topology to reduce cable losses and increase pickup section headroom. The special phantom powered Entity endpin preamps are also available separately. They are supplied with the B-Band pickup and condenser mic. You can install Entity onboard preamps to several guitars, and use them all with a single external Entity control amp unit. If you already use our Core preamps with a condenser mic, you can configure the input of the external control amp to suit these, with DIP-switches inside. The Entity system has sophisticated control capabilities for both the B-Band and the mic. For example it features adjustable high-pass filter for the mic, a mix control, a balanced XLR output, two effects loops and a headphone output. It can be powered by battery, external AC-adapter or phantom power. The Entity should be available after April. For more information, visit the EMF Acoustics web site at www.b-band.com.
