ENSONIQ Debuts The AVISTA 8800

AVISTA Series Of Digital Pianos Continues To Expand

January 28, 1999 -- ENSONIQ is proud to Debut the AVISTA 8800, the second model of the new AVISTA™ series of digital pianos. This new member of the AVISTA family offers 88 fully-weighted keys, 8 onboard sounds, a two-track sequencer, and is available in multiple finishes. Other exciting features include built-in metronome, onboard effects (Chorus/ Reverb), adjustable touch sensitivity, 2-way speaker systems, and transposing capabilities. The AVISTA 8800 has a suggested retail price of under US$2000 and will ship late Q2,1999. A prototype AVISTA 8800 was demonstrated at NAMM in the EMU-ENSONIQ booth.

Keyboard
The 88-note, fully-weighted action keyboard recreates the feeling of the playing keys on an acoustic piano. The AVISTA 8800 has three pedals that have the same functionality as those found on a traditional grand piano: soft, sostenuto and sustain. And three different levels of touch will help you to find the keyboard sensitivity range that is most well suited for you.

Sounds
The AVISTA 8800 offers a palette of expressive piano and other sounds. There are a total of 8 sounds on the AVISTA 8800: Pianol, Piano2, Piano3, E. Piano, Harpsichord, Organ, Strings, and Choir. The 2-voice layering and 32-voice polyphony allow you to layer these sounds together, creating rich, complex combinations, while minimizing the possibility of note rip-off.

Recorder
The AVISTA 8800 features an on-board two-track recorder that is extremely easy to use. This feature will allow for the recording of two completely independent tracks. After the two tracks are recorded, a third track can then be played live on top of the two original tracks. The built-in metronome will help to keep you in time when recording your music. The volume and speed of the metronome can be easily adjusted with the touch of a single button. The Avista 8800 also features a powerful 2-way speaker system for optimum sound quality. These impressive 40W x 2 speakers will help to bring your playing experience to life by generating a sound that is clear, crisp, and concise.

Beauty
The rich finishes of the 8800 will complement the room of any home. A convenient builtin cover also adds to the beauty of the cabinetry while protecting the 8800's piano keys.
