ENSONIQ Ships EDS-1000X for PARIS

Multi-Card Expander Increases Record and Playback Track Count

January 28, 1999 -- ENSONIQ has released the EDS-1000X multicard expansion kit for the PARIS® hard disk recording system. The EDS-1000X increases the number of discreet audio tracks a PARIS hard disk recording system can record and play back. Each EDS-1000X delivers an additional 16 channels of real-time, hard disk audio tracks.

The EDS-1000X installs easily into any open PCI slot of the host computer running PARIS, allowing users to play back up to 32 tracks of 16-bit or 24-bit audio simultaneously. In addition, installing the EDS-1000X into an existing PARIS system delivers twice the DSP capabilities of a single card PARIS system, providing an additional 64 bands of real-time, full-bandwidth parametric EQ plus additional real-time 24-bit effects, including compression, gating, expansion, chorus, delays and reverbs. Up to three EDS-1000X expansion cards can be installed on the host computer, delivering a total of 64 tracks of playback, 256 parametric EQ's and four times the DSP effects of a single card PARIS system.
