EV Unveils R200 UHF Diversity Wireless Microphone SystemSystem Supplies Optimum Performance in Crowded Frequency Areas
January 28, 1999 -- Electro-Voice will unveil the new R200 Wireless Microphone System at the NAMM Convention. The American-built R200 wireless system offers advanced Electro-Voice technology and reliability and is designed to meet the requirements of musicians and audio engineers who need high quality, high value wireless. "The R200 true diversity UHF wireless system has excellent performance and will delight the most discerning users," says Mike Torlone, director of marketing music products for Electro-Voice. "The R200's proprietary Secure-Phase diversity utilizes the signal from both antennas at all times to eliminate phase or polarity shifts while maximizing signal strength. Greater signal strength means better sound quality and lower interference potential." The R200 supplies optimum performance in crowded RF environments by operating in the range between 710.100 and 721.350 MHz (TV channels 54-55) on single frequencies. The true-diversity system and Secure-Phase circuitry ensure maximum signal range. The R200 system offers a selection of handheld, lavalier, headset and guitar systems. The RCU receiver is specially designed to work with microphone signals and the GRU receiver is designed to handle the transients of guitars. Both receivers offer 3-pin XLR-type balanced mic level and 1/4-inch unbalanced line level output connectors and specially tuned antennas for easy positioning and setup. Both receivers may be rack mounted with an optional kit. The HTU handheld transmitters offer a choice of the Electro-Voice BK-1 cardioid condenser or the Electro-Voice N/D 157 cardioid N/DYM microphones for exceptional vocal reproduction. The BPU bodypack transmitter has a TA4F connector for easy microphone interchangeability. Available microphones include the EV ULM20 cardioid condenser lavalier and the HM2 condenser headset microphone. The R200 UHF wireless system also features the XTU plug-in transmitter. The XTU simply plugs onto a wired microphone and allows full-spectrum wireless audio transmission. The XTU works perfectly with the R200 receiver.
