New SCR Model Joins "S" Pantheon
January 28, 1999 -- Now entering it's twelfth year, the ultra sleek, mahogany bodied Ibanez S Series guitar line expands at the 1999 Winter NAMM Show with new SCR models. "The SCR has the same 25.1 neck scale--which is between a Les Paul and a Strat--of our S Classic guitars," remarked Masashi Inoue of Ibanez USA, "combined with the comfortable aerofoil body contours of our old Radius guitar, the body shape the Joe Satriani models are based on. We think that's an unbeatable combination." Continued Mr. Inoue, "The new SCR models also feature standard tremolos with a low friction graphite nut and V1 and V2 Ibanez humbuckers; for playing straight out rock and roll without being too heavy tone-wise."
