Korg Expands Concert Series Digital Piano Line

Ci-800
C-560

January 28, 1999 -- Korg has introduced two new models to their Concert Series line of digital pianos: the Ci-800 and C-560. These new models incorporate SRS Labs Inc.'s critically acclaimed 3Dª Sound, which adds a surround sound effect to the instruments' stereo speaker systems. A Brilliance slider on the front panel is also included to adjust the overall tone of the instrument. Multiple onboard effects with Reverbs and Choruses further enhance their sound (the Ci-800 features 48 effect types!). Like all Korg Concert Series digital pianos, the new Ci-800 and C-560 feature Korg's exclusive AI2 synthesis system, 32-note polyphony, and full 88-note (A0-C6) weighted action keyboards with multiple touch controls to accurately reproduce the feel of an acoustic piano's hammer-action (from heavy to light).

The same sound engineering skill that has made Korg's keyboards the choice of many professionals ensures that the new C-560 and C-i800 provide truly rich, expressive piano sounds. The two new models offer a wide selection of additional sounds as well, including electric piano, harpsichord, vibes, organ and strings. The sound layering feature enables two sounds to be played simultaneously (such as piano with strings). In addition, the top-of-the-line Ci-800 contains 128 General MIDI compatible sounds, plus 14 drum kits, so it can be used to create and playback a wide variety of musical styles.

The Ci-800 and C-560 pianos include a wide array of features for practice and performance. Dual-line inputs enable external sources to be played through the pianos' high quality audio systems. The Ci-800 has an 11-track, 40,000 note backing sequencer, enabling the recording of separate accompaniment and melody parts, and the C-560 offers a comprehensive 16-track recorder, with a maximum capacity of 31,000 notes in ten songs. Additionally, the Ci-800 features a 3.5 inch high-density floppy disk drive, which can be used to save the sequencer contents or read commercially available General MIDI performance disks.

The Korg Concert Series pianos are designed to match any room decor. The Ci-800 and C-560 are finished in a luxurious, vintage dark brown maple exterior, and are beautifully crafted to convey a classic impression.

Additional features include: a metronome (with flashing tempo light); soft, damper, and sostenuto foot pedals; auto accompaniment (drums, bass, harmony); headphone jacks; MIDI and computer interfaces.

The suggested retail prices are as follows:
C-560: $2799.00, available now.
Ci-800: $3999.00, available now.
