Parker Guitars Expands Their NiteFly Line of Instruments

V6 (left), V5 (center), V8

January 28, 1999 -- Parker Guitars announces the introduction of three new NiteFly models, crafted from specially selected tonewoods never before offered in the NiteFly line. The NFV5 and NFV6 feature an ash body with a mahogany neck, and the NFV8 has a mahogany body and neck. Both woods were chosen for their full, rich tone and beautiful grain.

The new NiteFlys feature a 22 fret, 25.5" scale TurboTone® neck with an ultra-thin layer of high-modulus carbon and glass fiber reinforcement. The fingerboard is made of a similar composite. In addition, all three instruments feature locking Sperzel® tuning machines and jumbo spring-tempered, stainless steel frets. They also have a free-floating, spring vibrato system utilizing a premium steel and high-strength aluminum bridge.

Custom designed DiMarzio® pickups are mounted on the pickguard of each new NiteFly. The NFV5 has a single/single/single configuration, the NFV6 has a humbucker/single/single configuration, and the NFV8 introduces a new pickup configuration: two humbuckers. Additionally, an active Fishman® passive-piezo transducer system mounted in the bridge enables the NiteFly to produce acoustic guitar tones. The NiteMix® active circuit contained in all three models allows the two signals to be split and sent to separate amps, or summed and played through a single amp.

Controls for the magnetic pickups include volume, tone and a five-position pickup selector switch (the V8 has a three position pickup selector). A volume control for the piezo pickups and a selector for magnetic/piezo pickups (or both), along with a Stereo/Mono switch mounted on the pickguard are also included.

The NiteFly NFV5 is available in Sunburst, Transparent Red, Black and Transparent Blue and has a suggested retail price of $1399.00.

The NiteFly NFV6 is available in Transparent Red and Transparent Blue and has a suggested retail price of $1449.00.

The NiteFly NFV8 is available in Sunburst, Transparent Red, and Black and has a suggested retail price of $1449.00.

All instruments come with a custom designed soft case.
