Birch Masters Studio Extra Drums from Pearl

Due to overwhelming demand, Pearl is proud to announce that "birch is back"

January 28, 1999 -- The newly designed BRX Masters Studio Extra features 6-ply 7.5mm 100% birch shells that deliver deep lows and pronounced highs for enhanced clarity and projection. The "natural EQ" frequency response of birch makes the BRX equally at home on stage or in the studio.

Bass drums feature new D-054 claws with recessed tension rod receivers for tuning stability. Rubber gaskets on the claw's inner surfaces prevent scratching and help maintain the beauty of the hoop's finish. New "taller" CL-250 lugs compensate for the claw's rubber gaskets to assure perfect alignment between lugs and claws. BRX bass drums are offered in standard and power depths in diameters ranging from 18" to 24". Standard features include SP-30 spurs, BB-3 bass bracket, and Remo Powerstroke3 bass drum heads.

Mounted toms are available in standard, alternative, and power depths from 8" to 16" in diameter. Standard features include 2.3mm engraved Superhoop II, I.S.S., TH-981 tom holders, and Remo clear Ambassador heads.

Two BRX snare drums are available: the BRX-5514 (5 1/2"x14") and the BRX-5514D (6 1/2"x14"). Both feature 2.3mm engraved Superhoop II, SR-017 vertical pull strainer, and bridge lugs with brass receivers.

BRX Masters Studio Extra are sold in shell packs and components. Five high gloss lacquer finishes are available: #100 Wine Red, #103 Piano Black, #112 Natural Birch, NEW #128 Antique Sunburst, and NEW #151 Platinum Mist.
