Sennheiser Introduces The Evolution Series Headphones

January 28, 1999 -- Today's generation of recording artists and musicians now has a better alternative in high performance headphones with the introduction of the all-new Evolution Headphone Series by Sennheiser. Combining outstanding clarity and performance with sleek, sophisticated design and a surprisingly affordable price point, the Sennheiser Evolution Headphone Series is the ideal choice for up-and-coming performers who have long sought to bring Sennheiser's technical excellence and sound quality to their own home and studio listening environments. The Evolution Series consists of three dynamic headphone units: the EH1430, EH2200 and EH2270 offering durability, versatility and the rich, full sound you expect from Sennheiser. All units incorporate a 3.5mm stereo jack with a 6.3mm (1/4") adapter.

The EH1430 is an open, hi-fi stereo model ideal for rock and pop music listening. It can be connected to both hi-fi systems and personal stereo systems including compact disc, DAT and DCC, and delivers a frequency response of 22-20,000Hz with excellent bass response, and comfortable, supraural ear couplings. Manufacturer's suggested U.S. retail price: $59.95

The EH2200 combines an extended frequency response of 12-20,00OHz with excellent bass response, supraural ear couplings, and standard straight cable. Ideal for discerning musicians who appreciate listening to the subtle nuances in all musical genres. Manufacturer's suggested U.S. retail price: $129.95

The EH2270 is the top of the Evolution Headphone Series. Designed for playback in recording applications, the headphones' closed-cup, circumaural ear couplings provide total isolation, while its frequency response of 12-20,000Hz makes it a great choice for performers and recording engineers alike for critical listening situations. To facilitate easy movement in the recording studio, the EH2270 features straight-coiled-straight cable. Manufacturer's suggested U.S. retail price: $199.95

"Virtually every musician discovers the value of having a good set of headphones for critical listening situations," says Rob Douglas, headphone/multimedia product manager for Sennheiser. "So we created the Evolution Headphone Series to bring the legendary Sennheiser performance to home studio singer/songwriters and hard-rocking bands who deserve quality headphones at a price they can afford."
