Summit Audio Debuts MPE-200 Mic Preamp And 4-Band EqualizerDigitally Controlled Class A High Level Design; Analog Path Designed by Mr. Rupert Neve Now Shipping
January 28, 1999 -- Summit Audio, a world leader in high-quality audio equipment, announces the debut of the MPE-200 Microphone Preamplifier and 4-band Equalizer---the initial offering of the new Element 78 product line---at the NAMM Convention. Now shipping, the digitally controlled MPE-200 offers a Class A analog path designed by Mr. Rupert Neve. "Element 78 is an extremely important professional audio product for both Summit Audio and the audio industry at large," says Mike Papp, president of Summit Audio. "The Summit name has always been synonymous with the much sought after classic vacuum tube sound. We have built a comprehensive line-up longer than anyone in the business---and now we are building on that reputation with solid state." The unit offers a unique implementation of storage and reset capabilities allowing comparison of up to 25 user definable memory settings, copying of settings between units and MIDI control. The 2U rack space device provides two independent audio paths for each of two channels. Each channel consists of a high performance microphone amplifier with high and low pass filter sections and a comprehensive 4-band equalizer. Additional MPE-200 features include:
