Tascam Ships IF-TAD Digital Format Converter

January 28, 1999 --

TASCAM is featuring the IF-TAD—the first affordable digital converter on the market that can translate data from the DTRS to the ADAT format and backwards—at the NAMM Convention, held from January 28 to 31 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, Booth W1015. Priced at an incredible $199, the IF-TAD gives project studios the ability to make conversion from one format to the other at an aggressive price point.

According to Gene Joly, TASCAM division manager, “The IF-TAD Digital Format Converter represents a major breakthrough for musicians and project studio owners who want to professionally translate their DTRS to ADAT to without spending a fortune. Essentially, this unit provides the critical link between these two digital format worlds, allowing a DTRS based-studio to use ADAT sessions brought in by a client or to generate DTRS tapes of ADAT sessions to interface with major music studios, for example.”

The IF-TAD features TASCAM’s exclusive TDIF technology, signal indicating LED for TDIF activity, ADAT optical I/O, signal indicating LED for ADAT data activity and word sync out.
