Vox Re-Introduces the Mini 12 Guitar
January 28, 1999 -- In response to requests from collectors and aficionados, VOX announces the recreation of the Mini 12 Guitar. Originally introduced in 1963, the Mini 12 joins the ranks of other recently re-introduced VOX classics such as the droplet-shaped Mark III (with either a fixed bridge or Bigsbyª tremolo system); the Mark III Custom; the Mark VI; and the 12-string, droplet shaped Mark XII. The 19-fret VOX Mini 12 Guitar comes fully loaded with vintage alnico pickups. Its tuning and fingering are the same as a standard 12-string guitar, except that it is tuned to "A" instead of "E." The Mini 12 features fully adjustable intonation for each of the 12 strings, a solid two-piece hardwood body with maple neck, and exact recreations of the original chrome knobs and pickup covers. "The reissues of original VOX electric guitars combine the VOX styling and sound that helped shape and influence modern music, with the superior playability resulting from up-to-date improvements," commented Mitch Colby, Senior Vice President of Korg USA, the exclusive distributor of VOX in the U.S. "These faithful creations will satisfy hardcore VOX loyalists, while meeting the needs of today's most demanding musicians." The new VOX Mini 12 Guitar is available in Sunburst, and will be available in March 1999. The suggested retail price is $1000, which includes a hard case. Add contact here
