January 28, 1999 -- WAVES LTD., the leading supplier of DSP software for the professional audio and multimedia markets, today announced the Pro-FX suite of DSP PlugIns for Digidesign® TDM digital audio systems.

Retaining the sonic excellence that Waves PlugIns are known for, Pro-FX are new potent and innovative implementations of classic (and new) effects including emulation of vintage analog devices and effects possible only in the digital domain.

The Pro-FX Bundle includes the UltraPitch, a 6 voice formant-corrected pitch shifter; the SuperTap, a 6 voice multi-tap delay for effortless rhythmic repeats and doubling; the MetaFlanger for vintage tape-flanging and phase emulation; and MondoMod, a unique combination of AM, FM and Rotation (panning) modulations. Each PlugIn uses Waves' proprietary digital signal processing algorithms, with 56-bit audio math on TDM systems.

UltraPitch: From 1 voice to 6 voices, formant-corrected pitch-shifter that raises or lowers the pitch without distorted "chipmunk" sounding vocals. With fast pitch detection and completely variable stereo panning and rotation for each output. UltraPitch can create huge and thick stereo chorusing, doubling, parallel harmonies and more.

SuperTap: 6 voices, up to 6 seconds of 24 bit delay, independent LFO modulation, panning and rotation. The SuperTap uses component management so you can select what you need from smaller component plugs.

MetaFlanger: Used for classic, true-tape-flanging effects, comb-filter phase emulations. The design includes FIR filters for absolutely perfect bandlimited flanging so that the harmonic notches remain precisely aligned for an effect not available in the analog world, plus multiple phase inversions at all key points.

MondoMod: Combines AM (level), FM (frequency), and stereo rotation (panning) into a single modulator, with built-in LFO and the ability to modulate from a sidechain source. It is able to create bizarre and unexpected effects, both destructive and subtle.

Availability: The Pro-FX PlugIns will be available for TDM systems from Waves Dealers worldwide at the beginning of April 1999 for a MSRP US $700.
