Yamaha Debuts EMX860ST Powered MixerExtra Amplifier Included For Powering On-Stage Monitors
January 28, 1999 -- Yamaha Corporation of America, Pro Audio & Combo Division, introduces the EMX860ST Powered Mixer. Ideal for a wide range of live sound applications, the EMX860ST features 10 high-quality input channels and an extra amplifier for powering on-stage monitors. The EMX860ST is scheduled to ship in February, 1999. "Finally, there's a stereo powered mixer that doesn't ignore the performer," states John Schauer, product manager, Pro Audio Group. "We've provided another amplifier for the monitors, making set-up even simpler. We want to take the hassle of set-up out of the performer's mind. They have enough to worry about already!" Each of the EMX860ST's three on-board amplifiers delivers 200 watts of power, eliminating the need for bulky external amplifiers to power on-stage monitors. This high-degree of portability makes the EMX860ST the perfect choice for musicians and bands looking to cut down on the amount of equipment they need to perform. The EMX860ST has six mono and two stereo input channels allowing for the quick connection of a wide range of sound sources. Channels one through six feature both XLR and 1/4-inch connectors, making them ideal inputs for guitars, basses and microphones. Inputs 7-8 have XLR mono inputs and Line-level stereo inputs, to allow patching of stereo sources.
