Yamaha Introduces F Series Loudspeakers

F15 15" 2-Way Speaker

January 28, 1999 -- Yamaha Corporation of America, Pro Audio & Combo Division, introduces the F Series line of high-performance, live sound speakers. Designed to satisfy the most demanding sound reinforcement professionals, all F Series speakers are built to easily handle the power delivered by contemporary amplifiers. A unique switching design allows all two-way speakers in the line to be bi-amplified, further enhancing their audio performance. The F Series line is scheduled to ship in February, 1999.

"The F Series represents years of research and development into what matters most in a live sound speaker system," states John Schauer, product manager, Pro Audio Group. "Yamaha Engineers had carte-blanche to choose the finest components from all over the world to provide the best quality audio reproduction. The results are stunning. Both frequency response and acoustic output are far superior to other offerings in this range."

The F12 Speaker System features a two-way, bass reflex design with a 4" voice coil, 12-inch cast frame low-frequency driver mounted below a two-inch (throat) titanium high frequency driver. Integral flying hardware is included to allow for hanging the F12. Power handling is rated at a maximum of 1400W at 8 ohms. The F12M, is the floor monitor version of the F12.

For extended low-frequency performance in a similar package, Yamaha introduces the F15. As with the F12, the F15 also features a two-way, bass reflex design with 3-inch titanium high frequency driver. A high-performance, 15-inch low frequency driver gives the F15 smooth response and maintains power handling at very high levels.

The F28 Subwoofer makes a perfect addition to either the F12 or F15 Speaker Systems, while also being an easy way to greatly enhance the performance of any sound system. Two 18-inch drivers deliver amazing bass in a package so small it might be mistaken for a double 15! An extremely rigid cabinet design allows power handling in excess of 4000 watts (peak). Casters are provided on the F28 to allow easy transport.

All F Series speakers feature a highly durable "carpet" finish, and heavy gauge steel grilles for external protection. In addition, heavy duty carrying handles make moving the F Series from location to location a simple matter.
